I have slept in, planted flowers, sent my children to camp and generally lazed about for the last couple of weeks. I am enjoying summer this year as a time to rest but I can't help thinking about new crew members! I think being a teacher is a lot like being a parent.    Please pardon my Doors reference. I couldn't resist. This was the magical week when second graders leave first grade behind and begin to work towards independence.
