Ah, Summer

I have slept in, planted flowers, sent my children to camp and generally lazed about for the last couple of weeks. I am enjoying summer this year as a time to rest but I can't help thinking about new crew members! I think being a teacher is a lot like being a parent. Even when you are not thinking about your kids...you are thinking about your kids. Break on through to the other side....Yeah

   Please pardon my Doors reference. I couldn't resist. This was the magical week when second graders leave first grade behind and begin to work towards independence. We worked on following directions quickly and raise your hand to speak more than anything else. These simple rules are part of the big five from Whole Brain Teaching.
